It should preferably be a 16-bit 44.1 Khz recording and can be in AIFF (Mac) or WAV (PC) format. MP3 format gives lower quality, but may be used if no alternative is available. Your recording can be stereo or mono, but the cylinder will be recorded from it in mono.
