TALKING BOOK

Read by
Barry Paine

Jarge Balsh agrees to take his wife and his mother-in-law to the Frome Cheese Show. After various mishaps, they arrive in a 'chauffer-driven' Daimler and the two women proceed to take the unfortunate tradesfolk and visitors at the show by storm.

After a day which Jarge would rather forget, but Frome probably never will, they return home with unexpected and macabre company.

Written by William Marchant Jones, a well-known figure in Coleford (near Frome), this is the second hilarious yarn in his series of delightful portraits of the life of the village &emdash; and of its inhabitants, some of whose families still live in the Coleford area.

Zummat 'O Nothin'

Is a selection of poems, some in the local dialect, describing the life and characters of Somerset as William Marchant Jones knew them.
